The Owner of a Group of Food and Beverage outlets in the UK contacted Elm FM about a new Café they were in the process of opening in Sheffield.
The project was for a large coffee shop, spread across two retail concessions within the Sheffield Heart of the City development.

These units were both part of one of the recently constructed multi-purpose buildings as part of the regeneration scheme in Sheffield City centre- and as such the units benefit from some notable sustainability features- such as ultra-low temperature air source heat pump driven heating systems, ultra-tight construction (low air permeability) and low solar gain glazing. This made the project a highly challenging- but also highly rewarding scheme to work on and be a part of.
Elm FM were able to design, and obtain landlord and building control approval, for a purpose designed low temperature heating system- which relies on clever sizing and selection of oversized HVAC equipment to deliver comfort heating and ventilation to the users of the Café, despite its high open ceilings- and it does so without creating unnecessary draughts.
The whole project was designed and delivered on an incredibly tight timeframe- and this allowed the Café to open on schedule- despite the scale of the challenge.
